What is Shift?
Shift is a flexible contribution platform where eligible contributors record everyday tasks to help train robotics and AI systems.
How do I get started?
Apply with Shift, pick up or set up your recording gear if approved, download the app, and follow the recording and payout setup steps.
Do I set my own schedule?
Yes. You choose whether, when, and how often to accept available recording opportunities. Shift does not guarantee minimum opportunities or earnings.
What should I film?
Film your everyday work in hands-on industries like construction, landscaping, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, auto repair, welding, and the everyday trades. If you’re not sure you qualify, call (609) 462-3703. Record eligible tasks shown in the app or otherwise approved by Shift, keeping your hands, tools, and work area clearly in frame.
When do I get paid?
Approved submissions are paid weekly, deposited directly into your bank account. During onboarding we walk you through setting up payouts in the app. Only accepted uploads are eligible for payment unless your Shift terms say otherwise.
How is my data protected?
Shift uses privacy and security safeguards, including review controls and tools that help blur faces or personal information. Follow the app instructions to avoid capturing private content.
Can I stop participating?
Yes. There is no lock-in. You can take on as many or as few opportunities as you want and stop participating at any time.
